An Overview

MBC Nepal Missions is a ministry of Milledgeville Baptist Church in the country of Nepal.  In simple terms we are in Nepal to carry out the Great Commission given to us in Matthew 28:18-20  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  (19)  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  (20)  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  We believe that it is the job of the Church to preach the gospel weather or not a man listens or responds.  We also serve with full confidence that obedience to God will lead to the salvation of souls. The example left for us by the Word of God shows that we are to accept men where they are  and show them a better way. (John 4:4-30, Acts 8:26-38) The Bible is also clear that we are to practice pure religion as stated in James 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (Matthew 25:34-45)

Practical Outworking

A ministry to the abandoned beggar children of Nepal. The Home was started in 1991 by Joe and Tanna Collins and continued since their deaths by Bro. Jerry and Sis. Martha Sellers.  The Childrens Home is presently under the supervision of Krishna Shahi and his wife Mya.  The children are provided food, clothing, shelter, and education.  The Home presently has 24 children.

Lee's Home

A ministry to widows who are widows indeed.  Presently there is one widow that is served by us.  In Nepal there are no places to go to.  An elderly Christian lady who loses her husband has no place to go.  In most cases they have been rejected by their Hindu families and have no way to survive.  Bro. Krishna also supervises this work along with the assistance of Sunjay and Debaca

Bible Printing and Distribution

A veteran missionary has worked on a good transalation that is in agreement with the King James Bible.  Over the last 15 years thousands of Bibles have been distributed. Much work is done raising the necessary funds to print and then plans are made for distribution.  Much of this work is carried on by Boudha Baptist Church with the assistance of Churches here in the state.

Soulwinning and Tact Distribution

There is no substitute for personal evangelization.  However, in a country like Nepal much care must be given in how those personal oppurtunities are taken. Because of the Nature of the Laws and the deep religious traditions of the country it is much better for Americans to let Nepali's tell Nepali's.  Therefore, our efforts concentrate on providing the materials and training to Nepali Christians thereby achieveing a much greater return of souls for Christ.

Church Planting and Building

This is the main thrust of MBC Nepal Missions. Under the direction of Bro. Jerry Sellers and Bro. Ram, Pastor of Bouhda Baptist Church there have been 7 other churches started.  There are also 5 other fellowships that will soon become Churches as men are raised up to pastor them.  With the starting of a new Church there eventually comes the time when a building is needed.  It is our firm belief that it is the Nepali peoples responsiblilty to build a building for themselves.  However, in such a poor country it is very difficult for the Churches to do it on ther on.  When good faith, sacraficial efforts are made to obtain the necessary funds then help is provided.
